Hi lovelies. How was your week?
Does anyone else read Leo Babauta’s Zen Habits blog? It’s on my Feedly feed, but I don’t read it every week. But I happen to take a look recently, and a post really hit home for me. I’ve been feeling a bit stressed. (I wrote about it here.) Leo wrote about his method for dealing with stress and I thought it was worth sharing.

It’s not new, but I re-found it and re-fell in love with it. It’s upbeat and has a unique yet catchy sound.

Monday: I took a class called “Endurance” at Uplift Studios. It was a fabulously fun and challenging workout. Lot’s of jumping around and tons of strength work with weights. Also, great 90s music.
Hello pals. Happy Thursday!! Last week I changed my emphasis from running to strength training. I’m all new kinds of sore, but I think it’s the right move for my body and something I can pull off without any long races looming. (Though I do have a few shorter races coming up!)
Here’s what I got into:
The Brooklyn Half is a few weeks away and my long runs are getting long (to me). I have to recalibrate how long I can work out after a long run. (It’s Tuesday and I’m still feeling Saturday’s run.) All in all, it was a lovely and busy week. Here’s what went down:
Monday: Uplift Express. I’ve taken 3 classes at Uplift and this place always exceeds expectations. More on this studio here!
Have you tried Uplift Studios on 23rd Street in Flatiron? Before last week, I hadn’t.
I’d heard great things, so when I was searching ClassPass for a post-work class that I could attend barefoot, Sculpt Fusion fit the bill. (For more on Uplift fandom, check out this post by Theodora, the blogger behind Preppy Runner.)
