October 19, 2017: UPDATE the below code has expired. If you’d like to run the Big Apple Half Marathon or the Queens Half Marathon, use NH10 as your discount code!
Hi all! Just popping in briefly to share some news. I was selected to be a NYCRuns ambassador. What does this mean for you? Race discounts on a ton of races in NYC! The team at NYCRuns gave me a handy promo code and I am excited to share the goods with you.
Use the code BC17NH at checkout and you’ll save $5 or $10. You can use the code as many times as you like.
NYCRuns produces races on behalf of organizations (usually charities) and also runs their own races. The discount code only works on NYCRuns races.
Here are some of the races coming up where the code applies:
Today, TCS New York City Marathon will grant race entry to 16,211 runners through the lottery drawing. That is only 17% of all applicants. Put another way, that’s the same acceptance rate as getting into tough school like Williams College and even harder than getting into Georgetown University (18% acceptance rate) and Johns Hopkins University (18% acceptance rate).
Were you one of the lucky ones?
I’ve been mulling over running a marathon for the last two years. I gained entry to the NYC Marathon for 2015 through a program called 9+1. (How it works: In a calendar year, you run 9 races hosted by the NYC Marathon sponsor organization the New York Road Runners and you volunteer at one too.) Since I sprained my ankle and didn’t run in 2015, I was able to defer guaranteed entry status to 2016, but I sprained my ankle AGAIN December 2015, so I didn’t feel confident committing to the race (which you’re required to do very early in the year).
Every runner knows running can be a mind f*ck (pardon my French). I am not an expert runner, but I am a head case who has (for the most part) learned to love running without letting it make me crazy. That’s taken some mental work.
Hi there! Today we have a post from a very special guest blogger. Enjoy!
Oh, hello. Before I begin, there’s something you should know. This is NOT Cuckoolemon (don’t worry she is safe). This is ILoveNoodles (the handle I use in the comments and wherever else I possibly can), but Cuckoolemon readers know me as Matt, Nicole’s boyfriend.
