It’s pretty easy for me to get ready for work in most gym locker rooms. Step 1: Shower using whatever products the gym provides; Step 2: Shove sweaty gym clothes in those free plastic bags gyms give out; Step 3: Use whatever body lotion the gym has on my body and face (is that bad?) Step 4: Tie hair in wet bun; Step 5: Leave. It’s not that I believe my natural beauty to be so outstanding that I don’t need make up or a blow dryer, it’s that I don’t leave enough time for that sort of luxury and don’t know any quick make up tips.
When I think of spending money on “beauty,” I want products that make my hair and skin look good on their own, not something complicated that can leave me looking blotchy or messy (or that I’ll probably mess up).
Here are a few products that I swear by and that make my life a hell of a lot easier. (Oh, and that don’t require watching an instructional video on YoutTube.)
- Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream. I’ve always wanted to live in a world where my hair could air dry frizz-free. This product has made that dream a reality. I wish this existed when I was in sleep away camp. I put a fair amount of this cream in my hair when it’s wet and my hair dries softer and less frizzy than it would on it’s own. I just squeeze a little more than a quarter size into my hands, rub them together, and put it all over my hair (I go light on the roots). When I first started using it, I was too light on my pour so the product didn’t do much. Now that I’m more comfortable, I use a more liberal serving, and it makes a big difference.
