I spent so much of last week feeling so sore. I went to Barry’s 2x and the Fhitting Room once but I think it was the physical therapy session at Finish Line that really did me in. I guess I haven’t done a squat in years.
You guys know I’m a fan of the nutrition blog Summer Tomato. I stumbled upon this older post on breaking your good habits called, “The I Just Don’t Feel Like It” Fallacy. In it, Darya talks about thinking through the real reason you’re breaking a habit that’s helped you meet a goal in the past. She just gets me.
One of my favorite running bloggers, the Great Britain-based Charlotte, ran the Boston Marathon last weekend. Her recap is sure to make you smile, so I wanted to share it.

Last week was freezing and icy in New York and my workout choices were all in service of staying warm and inside as much as possible. Did you let the weather get in your way?
Here’s what went down.
Monday: Didn’t work out
Tuesday (aka SNOWMAGEDDEN): Matt and I took an early morning Flywheel class. (There is a studio two blocks from our house.) I got pelted in the face with hail on the walk there (and back) but it was great to get a workout in before bunkering down in the storm.
Happy Thursday! How was your week? Just looking at last week’s recap make me tired. There was so much I wanted to do and I wore myself out doing it.
Here’s what I got into:
Monday: Barry’s Bootcamp (arms and abs day with Patrick Frost)
Wednesday: 4-mile morning run in Central Park

A few weeks ago, I participated in Kale with a Side of Fries‘ two-week winter detox jam. I am going to write about my experience soon, for sure. Since the detox, I’ve had a renewed excitement for healthy cooking. I wanted to bake something sweet. I scoured the internet for a healthy muffin recipe and found this 5-ingredient one from the blog Pinch of Yum. The recipe is super simple and the muffins were delicious. I used these gluten-free oats from Bakery on Main. They have 8 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving! (No one is paying me to say this. Though I would be open to accepting dollars, OKAY Bakery on Main?)
