13 signs you’re a Barry’s Bootcamp Addict

I took my first Barry’s Bootcamp class over three years ago.  Back then, there was no advance spot assignment, and class started with a mad dash toward the treadmills. Other than that, not much has changed. It’s still a brutally sweaty, efficient and diverse workout.

In the last six months or so, I’ve become a true Barry’s addict. Nary a week passes where I don’t go to at least two classes.  I’ve celebrated small Barry’s achievements (first covering 2 miles in a class and now covering at least 2.5 miles) and I have really grown to love stepping into their studios.

If you’re a Barry’s addict like me, the following 13 things may ring true. Let me know in the comments if you have any to add or to second.

Class Review: AKT in Motion – Happy Hour

AKT in Motion has been on my radar for a while. There’s a studio in NoMad not too far from my office, since it’s not on ClassPass I needed a little push to try it.

AKT was created by Anna Kaiser, a former Tracy Anderson trainer. After my less than stellar experience at Tracy Anderson’s East Hampton studio, I was a little hesitant to try something based on the same principles. But after reading a few good reviews my pal Katy and I decided to give it a shot. (We also went to Tracy Anderson together.)

All the workouts: May 29 – June 11

Hi friends! Sorry for the lack of post last week. Our wedding is less than two weeks away, so things are busy around here.

A while ago, I spoke to someone writing for ESPN about wearing orthotics, and the article came out last week.

For more information on how orthotics helped me get back on my feet, check this out.

All the workouts: May 22 -28

Happy Friday, friends!  Did everyone have a nice Memorial Day Weekend?  What’d ya get up to?

A few things before we get started.  Feeling stressed? I enjoyed this post from The Blissful Mind on how to calm anxious thoughts. On a similar topic, my pal Ali Feller wrote an article for Well & Good that’s well worth a read: “The (very controllable) reason you might be more stressed than you were three years ago.”

Now, on to last week’s workouts:

Class Review: Metabolic Burn at Body Space Fitness

It’s been a while since I’ve tried a new class that I really liked. In fact, I’m pausing my ClassPass membership at the moment because I just want to go to the studios I know and love for a while. But before ClassPass and I went on a break, I signed up for Metabolic Burn at Body Space Fitness.

Body Space Fitness is located on 14 Street between 5th and 6th avenues. It’s near a bunch of subway lines and it’s also in the same building as Flex Studios.
