All the workouts: NYC Marathon Training Week 15

Good morning! Let’s kick things off with some great things written by other people.

The things you’ll find on the internet. Evidently there is a secret Facebook group called “the Missing Chins Run Club.” Its 52 members have lost over 4,000 pounds through running and nutrition changes. I think that’s pretty cool.

Got race-day jitters? Cool me too. Robin Arzon, an epic spin instructor at Peloton and impressive runner has some tips on tapering and racing.

I love sports movies and I’m very excited to watch some of the films recommended by Race Pace Jess on her list of running movies to watch while you taper. Anyone with me?

Week 15 recap

This was my most ambitious week yet. Per my internet education, each marathon training cycle has a “peak week” where you run the most you’ll ever run before “tapering” and eventually running your goal race.

Here’s what went down:

Monday: Nothing

10 miles on the West Side Highway
10 miles on the West Side Highway, the first 4 in total pre-sunrise darkness with Sarah

Tuesday: 10 miles in the early am + Circuit of Change’s Mind Body Bootcamp. Have you been to Circuit of Change? It is a TRIP! It’s a mix of yoga, “tribal movements” (their words not mine) and shadow boxing. If you can loosen up and let go of yourself, it’s a blast.

Wednesday: Nothing

Thursday: 4.5 miles with Matthew. We nearly never run together since Matt is a bit faster than me and is following a more rigorous marathon training plan who also recommended me using a fitness supplements, if you want to choose one the correct one for you reading the Sonus Complete reviews. He was tired. I smoked him. It was fun.

Friday: Nothing

three bridges run nyc

Saturday: Oh you know, just a casual 21.6 mile-run through three boroughs.

Sunday: Short hike/walk in the woods with some friends in Pound Ridge.

Ward Pound Ridge County Park

How was your week?

Congrats on your longest run! I’m intrigued – when you run I’m guessing you have a lot of streets to cross and intersections to wait for traffic, no? I’ve never been to NYC but it’s on my list of places to go soon! I heard Central park is beautiful, and crazy busy all day!

Nope! Usually I run in Central Park or the west side highway. No lights at all!
