Hi, everyone! What do you think of the new look of Cuckoolemon.com? I would love your opinion; let me know in the comment section if you have any feedback.
Now a few housekeeping items. (Sorry Matt, this is the only housekeeping I plan to do this week.)
Thank you to everyone who entered the REI Giveaway Sweeps. I’d like to congratulate commenter JUANITO! (real name: Jon Goren) on being the randomly selected winner! (I used a random number generator, FYI.) Jon, check your email for your gift card!
A few weeks ago, I participated in Kale with a Side of Fries‘ two-week winter detox jam. I am going to write about my experience soon, for sure. Since the detox, I’ve had a renewed excitement for healthy cooking. I wanted to bake something sweet. I scoured the internet for a healthy muffin recipe and found this 5-ingredient one from the blog Pinch of Yum. The recipe is super simple and the muffins were delicious. I used these gluten-free oats from Bakery on Main. They have 8 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving! (No one is paying me to say this. Though I would be open to accepting dollars, OKAY Bakery on Main?)
Here’s this week’s workout recap!
Monday: 4 chatty miles with Katy
Tuesday: I took a PopPhysique class. I hadn’t been here in a while and it was SO tough – but in the best way. My arms were burning and I loved it.
Wednesday: I went to an event with Brooke Burke-Charvet (an actress and former Playboy model) that I thought was going to be a workout that focused on pelvic and core strength. That was totally part of the event. But it ran late so I missed most of the workout because I had dinner plans scheduled closely after the event’s listed end time.
Thursday: Barry’s Bootcamp (Abs day). I did not feel up for this. I wanted to quit the first 10 minutes, but I kept it up, and of course, felt great.
Friday: Nothing
Saturday: 3-mile hilly run in the Berkshires
Sunday: I went on a beautiful hike in Race Brook Falls with Matt and Casey in Sheffield, MA.
When we got back to the city on Sunday we headed to Mamma G’s at The Nomad Hotel to celebrate our friend Claire’s birthday. Mamma G’s is a super indulgent Sunday night family dinner with red sauce Italian favorites. I gorged on chicken parm, pasta, meatballs and oodles of other goodies. A highly recommended delicious night off from my ideal health style.

Last, I finished the novel A Man Called Ove this weekend. I loved it. Read anything you loved recently? Would love a recommendation!
