5 races in 2015

Now that I’m back in the running game, I’ve signed up for a few races to close out 2015. I asked Raechel (my physical therapist) if I could run a half marathon in December. She said no. It’s really nice to have someone smarter than me to make these decisions.

I’m going to keep slowly building a base and hopefully run a longer race some time early next year.

Based on that plan, I signed up for a bunch of shorter races to close out 2015. Wanna talk about it? Wanna run them with me?

Check ’em out:

October 11: Central Park Duathlon: I wrote about my anticipation for this race here.

October 31: Dash to the Finish 5K: I ran this race last year. It’s incredibly fun. It’s one of 3 races during the year where you get to run through the streets of Manhattan.

November 21: Run for the Elephants 10K: I wanted to try one longer-than-a-5K distance before the end of the year

November 26: Oyster Bay Turkey Trot 5K: I had a blast running this race with my family last year.  It’s a fun new tradition and gets my family involved in something I love doing anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving from me and this total stranger in a turkey costume!

That’s all that’s on the books for now. Any New Yorkers have a good race to recommend this winter?

What are you racing this fall/winter?
