The 30-Day Challenge

Have you seen all of those 30-Day Challenges floating around social media? It’s very New Year’s Resolution-y.

First of all, here is the mother-ship: 30 Day Fitness Challenges. Follow that link to find 30 Day Challenges for every limb in your anatomy.

Matt and I are doing the 30 Day Abs Challenge, which looks like this:

30 Day Abs Challenge
Hello from day 6

Has anyone ever done one of these before? Did you see tangible results?

I’ve never done a 30 day (or any amount of time) program before, (unless you count a Hal Higdon training plan) but I’m really into it. I have some control freak tendencies and really jive well with a routine – especially if I perceive it to be expert-created.(#KnowYourself)

30 day abs challenge
Matt and my mom on day 3 of the 30 day abs challenge. (Susan had already changed from her workout attire but got back in the game for in time of the challenge). Also who can guess what game we had just finished playing? (Hint: look on the coffee table)

In the case of the ever-elusive flat midsection, I always heard it was 80% what you eat and 20% what you do, but I imagine doing an increasing amount of crunches, sit ups and planks every day for a month can’t hurt. It’s also a good reminder to work out in general each day. ie: do the ab work then continue on to some other body part while you’re already in workout attire (or workout jammies as Matthew demonstrates above).

I’ll let you know how it goes. Are you doing one of these? Have you?
