Important Question: Do you guys LIKE showering at a fitness studio? What if it’s a nice one? What if they have a fancier blow dryer than you do at home? What if they offer Malin + Goetz shower products? (M+G must be owned by the same investment group as every boutique fitness operation because their products are everywhere.)
I just don’t. I’m not a creature of habit in too many ways, but I prefer to shower and get ready at home so I can spread out, air dry my hair and waste as much time as possible. (I can floss my teeth for like 2 hours while staring off into the abyss, ask anyone who has ever lived with me.) I also don’t enjoy packing a bag.
This means that if I want to work out before work, I need to be crafty. I can either do a run that ends at home, an early nearby spin class (luckily this option does exist for me) or a barre/pilates class where, let’s be real I don’t shower after. Any tricks for getting ready at a studio? Would love your two cents.
Here’s what I got into this week:
Monday: I ran 2.5 miles before work and went to an EXO Chair Class at Gramercy Pilates. I hadn’t used this piece of equipment before. It looks like this:
I really liked it! Lots of balance work, which I am in to.
Tuesday: Physique57 in the am. A reminder on why I love this class here.
Wednesday: A mediocre post-work gym session. I ran about 1.25 miles and putzed around.
Thursday: Early morning Flywheel, I nearly overslept but was super happy when I made it. Mario is an awesome instructor.
Friday: 3.5 mile outside run. It was cold. This is what I wore:
Saturday: Nalini Method! This class was very challenging. We did approximately 1 million reps of every move.

Sunday: I ran the NYRR Gridiron 4 miler. Running is hard.
